Tracy is a folk artist who performs traditional folk music from Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales. He has released an album called Taverns and Tall Ships, which features songs from the Colonial Period in the USA. Tracy has performed all over the Midwest at venues and living history events. In addition to performing traditional songs some of which date back hundreds of years, he is also a talented song writer and enjoys writing new songs in an old style that reflect the history of our great country.
Growing up, Tracy was always surrounded by music, and he developed a love for a wide range of genres, including folk, pop country and jazz. As a child sitting in the basement with an old portable record player, he was influenced by The Kingston Trio, Peter Paul and Mary, Doc Severinsen, Roger Miller, Dion and The Belmonts, The Beach Boys and all the rest of his dad’s record collection. His passion for music has driven him to pursue a career as a professional musician, and he continues to strive for excellence in all that he does. Whether he’s performing as a solo folk artist, with the trio “All For Me Grog” or as a guitarist in various bands, Tracy Smith seeks to “kick ass and chew bubble gum, and he’s all out of bubble gum”-(They Live).
